At a very early age, founder Sam Shay recognized a passion for classic cars which would become a lifelong fascination. As a young man, attending school demanded the majority of his time, and as such he turned to restorations as a means of using limited spare time to earn money. Often buying vintage European sports cars in need of extensive restoration for as little as a few hundred dollars, he was able to turn knowledge and hard work into beautiful finished examples which sold for dollars on the penny invested. This ability to turn true basket cases into enjoyable, drivable works of art led to the inevitable creation of Modern Restoration and Design. All of our products bear our founder's unique mark to this day, created to preserve the beauty of the object yet allow generations present - as well as those to come - to enjoy this art in the guise of a reliable vehicle which is as exciting to drive as it is to admire. Every step of the way, we miss no details and cut no corners, ensuring for years to come that our cars embody our unique philosophy.
